Vanderbilt opens its 2023 season under the lights at FirstBank Stadium on Aug. 26

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt will be the first SEC football team to take the field in 2023 when the Commodores host Hawai’i on Aug. 26. The lid-lifter is set for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff at FirstBank Stadium, airing on SEC Network.

Vanderbilt also received kickoff times and broadcast assignments for its following three games, rounding out the nonconference slate.

Aug. 26 – Hawai’i (6:30 p.m. on SEC Network)Vanderbilt and Hawai’i meet during Week 0 for the second consecutive year. Last season, the Commodores secured a 63-10 win in Honolulu. Vandy will again be the only SEC team to play during Week 0. The game will air on SEC Network.

Sept. 2 – Alabama A&M (6 p.m. on ESPN+/SEC Network+)Vanderbilt will host Alabama A&M for the second time on Sept. 2. Vandy defeated the Bulldogs, 42-0, in 2017. The contest can be seen as part of both ESPN+ (subscription service) and SEC Network+ (available to SEC Network subscribers) packages.

Sept. 9 – at Wake Forest (10 a.m. CT on ACC Network)The Dores travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for the first time since 2012 for the 18th meeting between Wake and Vanderbilt. The Demon Deacons won last year's meeting in Nashville, 45-25, but Vandy has won three of the last four in the series. The game will open the day on ACC Network.

Sept. 16 – at UNLV (6 p.m. CT on CBS Sports Network)Vanderbilt visits Las Vegas for the first time to take on UNLV in Allegiant Stadium, home of the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders. It will mark Vandy's first contest in an NFL stadium since the 2018 Texas Bowl in Houston.

Head coach Clark Lea begins his third season at the helm of his alma mater in 2023. The Commodores return 18 starters, including nine on offense, from last year's team.
