Bridge near new Dubuque sports complex set for closure
This one-lane bridge connects Rooster Lane to Iowa 3 outside Dubuque.
The Dubuque County Board of Supervisors approved a plan this week to barricade and eventually remove a bridge that connects Iowa 3 to the road leading toward a new sports complex, the use of which has increased traffic on the bridge.
The bridge — connecting the state's Iowa 3 to the county's Rooster Lane — will be permanently barricaded this summer, requiring traffic from Rooster Lane to enter and exit via South John Deere Road. That means patrons of Offside Sports Complex's soccer programming and Offside Bar and Grill no longer will be able to use the bridge to reach Iowa 3.
