Fall Activewear Trends 2024: Matching Sets + Unique Tops

Oct 17, 2024

It never ceases to amaze me that by the end of each summer, I’m genuinely looking forward to fall. I love the change in weather and all the holidays and activities that come with it. This year, I’m really into fall fashion. This is new for me—I usually don’t dive into all the trends, but this time, I’m all in.

There are so many fall trends this year! Some I absolutely love on other people, and some I know will fit right into my style. As I was looking through the trends, I focused on picking clothes and accessories that work for my lifestyle. If I can’t move in it, dance in it, play with the dogs, and still look put together while walking around town, then it just doesn’t make sense for me to buy it

So, let’s get into it. I started with a mood board of all the fall things that caught my eye.

I’m really into chocolate browns, reds, and cozy sweatsuits right now. I’m so excited to mix leopard print into my wardrobe, whether it’s just a little pop or a full-on outfit. Leopard is such a statement! I’m also thinking of adding some softer, more feminine pieces to my athletic style. I love the idea of mixing sporty and soft, girly pieces.

So, basically, my mood this fall is:

And if you’re looking for even more inspo beyond what I have here, our list of Fall Trends (the *New* Fall Essentials) can help.

So this is me these days—I’m living in mostly sweats, wide-leg pants, tanks, sports bras and sweatshirts. Leggings have kinda taken a back seat, but I know I’ll be adding them back in full force soon. I just need to be comfortable. I’ve got to go from dropping my daughter Gia off, to the gym, to dog walking, to teaching dance, all in one day. That’s why I love matching sets; they make me feel put together, but also feminine and fun.

Lately, I’m all about color. I’ve swapped a lot of my black out (doesn’t hurt that my boyfriend loves it, too!).

I’m basically living in Athleta, Lulu, and adidas, but I’ve got major gaga eyes for Free People Movement right now! In case you missed it, I recently did a try-on post here.

If a trend doesn’t come in activewear, it’s probably gonna sit in my closet. So when considering which new pieces I should add to my closet this fall, I decided to go with the oversized trend, the leopard trend, and a romantic top. All of these trends I can integrate into my lifestyle easily.

I choose this oversized sweatsuit from Free People Movement, this romantic top (also from Free People Movement) and lastly, this amazing set: a leopard sports bra with matching leggings by Carbon38.

Shana’s been raving about these sweats for a while, so of course, I had to try them—and obviously, she’s right! They’re amazing. These sweatpants totally radiate cool, confident girl energy—effortlessly laid-back yet stylish, perfect for pulling off that ‘I woke up like this’ vibe. They’re oversized, lightweight, and super comfortable. The color is this gorgeous burnt orange, perfect for fall, but they come in a ton of other colors too.

They’re mid-rise and sit just right on the waist, though you can adjust them to wear higher or lower. The ankles are cinched, but you can roll them up for a whole different look. I usually wear a medium, but I sized down in these and still got that slouchy fit I love. And the pullover? Just as comfy. It even has pockets, which surprised me—I didn’t even realize they were there! It’s not too thick or too thin, just right for throwing on or even tying around your waist for a pop of color.

I’ve worn this sweat set to both a casual dinner and out Salsa dancing, and got compliments at each! At dinner, it was praised for being a super stylish set, and on the dance floor, I think people were impressed by how effortlessly cool it looked while being totally dance-worthy.

Top (M)

Oh, this top is just beautiful! The embroidery detailing on the front and back is spot on. The material is thick, has some compression, is stretchy, and buttery soft. It’ll easily mix with my other closet staples. This top totally fits the ‘from workout to weekend’ vibe. It’s perfect for transitioning seamlessly between activewear and casual, everyday outfits.

I ordered a medium, and the fit is great, though the arms are a bit long. With a little adjusting, the bunching of fabric isn’t as noticeable, but it’s still there. This top is warm, so it will be great for the cold winter months. Personally, this and just a jacket over top would keep me me nice and toasty.

Bra l Leggings | Sneakers

Okay, friends, this leopard top and leggings set is EVERYTHING. First of all, the comfort is next level—so soft with just the right amount of light compression. The moment I put it on, I felt like I’d been transformed into a total powerhouse. Seriously, is there a Marvel superhero who wears all leopard? Because I swear I felt like one! It’s wild how animal print can totally shift your energy like that.

Bra l Leggings | Tee | Sneakers

I can wear the set together for a bold look, or mix and match with other pieces—leopard goes with so many colors! I’m beyond excited to style this all fall, from working days to nights out.

Fall is here, and I’m so ready to embrace all these amazing activewear trends—comfy sweat sets, bold prints, rich colors, and everything in between!

xox,

L.
