Club enjoys ‘Rhinestone’ member-member tourney
The Cedars at Dungeness Women's Golf Association held its annual Member/Member Golf Tournament on May 23, with participants getting decked out in the "Rhinestone Cowgirl" theme.
Captain Judy Reno held a brief meeting following the good times, smiles and joking for 18 holes of golf where she shared several "thank you" notes from the Peninsula Home Fund, the Sequim High School girls golf team and one other charity for their contributions made last year.
Lori Oakes and Lori Wyngaert took first place in the tourney competition, with Barb Burrows and Lynnette Sheriff in second.
Lancelle earns an ace
Brandon Lancelle of Sequim sank his third hole-in-one last week, at The Cedars at Dungeness golf course.
Lancelle used a 9-iron to drive the 154-yard hole No. 8 at The Cedars.
Tim Bittner, Kalem Fields and Jeremy Oliver of Sequim witnessed the feat.
BMX park sets open house
Lincoln Park BMX in Port Angeles hosts an open house from 9-11 a.m. on Sunday, June 18.
Park reps will have bikes and helmets to use. Free racing is held afterward (sing-ups from 11 a.m.-noon, with racing afterward).
BMX racing is open to any ages, including those on balance bikes.
Any participant who gets a membership will be entered to win a new bike. Any current racers who refers someone to the open house will be entered to win a $50 gift card to the Bike Garage.

Commission to host hatchery workshop
The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission will hold a virtual Hatchery Workshop on June 9 and virtual Fish and Wildlife committee meetings on Friday, June 16.
At 8 a.m. on June 9, the commission's Hatchery Workshop provides an opportunity for a detailed discussion of hatchery production risks and benefits, and how they relate to efforts to increase prey for Southern Resident Killer Whales. The discussion also includes two hatchery policy alternatives.
At 9 a.m. on June 16, the commission's Fish Committee will meet to the provide the Co-Manager Hatchery Policy update on public comments received concerning the State Environmental Policy Act determination. The agenda also includes the Commission Forage Fish Policy, an update on pinniped predation, and future agenda item planning.
The Commission's Wildlife Committee will meet on June 16 at 11 a.m. to discuss the ongoing Game Management Plan. The committee will also discuss current events and agenda setting.
