SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane native and Gonzaga women's basketball assistant coach Stacy Clinesmith will be inducted into the 2024 Inland Northwest Sports Hall of Fame Tuesday afternoon.

Clinesmith has had an illustrious career in the Spokane area even before joining the Zags coaching staff. She attended Mead High School, where she won the 1996 AAA state championship. She went on to play college basketball at UC Santa Barbara, earning All-Big West Conference honors three times and winning four conference tournaments, leading to four NCAA tournament berths.

Clinesmith became the first player from Spokane to reach the WNBA, being drafted by Sacramento in 2000 and playing two seasons with Sacramento and the Detroit Shock.

She has served on the Gonzaga coaching staff since 2014, helping lead the team to eight NCAA tournament appearances and, most recently, a Sweet Sixteen appearance last year, their fifth in program history.

Clinesmith is among four other members, Isaac Fontaine, Jen Greeny, Dennis LaRue, and Bud Nameck, who will be inducted Tuesday afternoon.
