This special event, sponsored by Friends of Canyon Hills Library, will feature many fun activities including a trick-or-treat trail full of yummy candy, meeting a variety of characters from Kids Can Cosplay, and making ‘spooktacular’ crafts. The party will conclude with a showing of “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”

Kids can wear their costumes and go from one uniquely decorated trunk to the next for treats and fun activities. This safe trick-or-treat event will also include food and drinks and there is no charge to attend.

Trunk-or-Treat is a great way for kids to show off their costumes and fill their bags with candy, while parents socialize and get to know their neighbors. Visit canyonhillspc.org for additional information.

An impressive $47,000 was raised by The Stand Restaurant Chain and its loyal customers through a recent limited-time-offer and specially created “Cookies n’ Dreams” milkshake fundraiser benefitting the nonprofit Miracle for Kids.

Miracle for Kids serves children with life-threatening illnesses. All 19 restaurant locations featured the milkshake.

“This accomplishment is a testament to what local businesses can do to support their communities,” said Zachary Wishengrad, vice president of The Stand. “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated and to our partners at Miracles for Kids.”

Funds raised will provide crucial wraparound services to support families with programs offering them financial aid, basic needs, and housing assistance while fighting for their child’s life. The nonprofit Miracles for Kids currently serves families of kids in treatment at CHOC.
