Rotary Championships set for the weekend | News, Sports, Jobs - News and Sentinel

VIENNA — Local tennis fans will have the chance to take in some action this weekend as the 2024 Rotary Championships are set for Saturday and Sunday at the Greenmont Racquet Club.

It’s the 10th year of the U.S. Tennis Association-sanctioned event, and the Rotary Club of Wood County has announced that there will be a record-breaking 61 participants competing.

Four states — West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia — will be represented in the competition.

Over the past decade, the event has generated nearly $100,000 for local, non-profit charities. It has cemented the first weekend in November as a cornerstone event on the Mid-Ohio Valley sports calendar, showcasing some of the best young tennis players in the Mid-Atlantic.
