The Cleburne Lady Yellow Jackets traveled to Joshua to challenge their Johnson County bunkmates and longtime rivals in a District 8-5A match in the Owl Dome on Oct. 11 and, in quite possibly the most entertaining and hotly contested match of the season, fell to the Lady Owls in five sets. Cleburne won the first set 25-22, dropped the next two sets 25-18 and 25-14, as it was looking like the Lady Owls were beginning to get hot and looked to put the match away in the fourth set. Coach Timmi Blackshear and her assistant coaches rallied the girls however and with a spirited effort, they forced a fifth set with a 25-19 win. Joshua prevailed in the fifth and deciding set 15-10 in a rollicking setting that delayed fans from both sides from making it to their respective football games.

For the Lady Jackets, Maryelle Treesh had one point served and eight digs. Lillian Williams served six points and had eight digs. Kodi Bourg had three kills, one block and eight digs.
