A look at Adidas x Marimekko collection at Indian Wells

Adidas representatives Jessica Pegula and Maria Sakkari launched the latest collaboration between their tennis apparel sponsor and Finnish design house Marimekko at the 2023 BNP Paribas Open. The new designs are available at Tennis Warehouse starting today.

This is the fifth limited-edition collection that unites Marimekko's art of printmaking and Adidas’ world-class performance technology. The new pieces feature two Marimekko prints, Linssi and Lokki, which capture the sentiment of the long past times with a modern expression in colorways. The prints were originally created in the 1960s — Linssi by the textile and environmental artist Kaarina Kellomaki, Lokki by Maija Isola, who was inspired by sun and shade playing across fabric.

This latest Adidas x Marimekko collection features women's, men's and kids’ clothes, spanning across tennis, training, running, cycling, golf, sportswear, and Originals.

Let's have a closer look at the tennis line, introduced by Pegula and Sakkari in Indian Wells.

Until she was stopped by Petra Kvitova in the fourth round of the BNP Paribas Open, WTA world No.3 Jessica Pegula wore the Adidas Women's Marimekko Premium Tennis Tank paired with a solid black skirt, even though the collection offers a matching Adidas Women's Marimekko Premium Tennis Skirt. The wavy colorblock print of the American's outfit combines brown, beige, black and white.

On her way to the court, Pegula kept her body warm in a cropped, oversized-style Adidas Women's Marimekko Premium Tennis Jacket.

The above orange colorway of the Barricade tennis shoe completed Pegula's look at the BNP Paribas Open.

Maria Sakkari of Greece keeps progressing through the Indian Wells draw in the Adidas Women's Marimekko Premium Tennis Dress. There are two versions of the design: in earthy tones like Pegula's outfit, and this lighter option that includes light blue and coral hues.

The world No.7 Sakkari is also a representative of Barricade tennis shoes on the Hologic WTA Tour.

As she talked to the press, Sakkari kept herself warm in the soft jacket equipped with AEROREADY moisture management.

Last year's Indian Wells runner-up Sakkari is through to the quarterfinals this fortnight and her next obstacle is Petra Kvitova.
